Comments and Annotations

Using Comments and Annotations makes collaborating on designs easier. Comments encourage general discussion about the work. Annotations simplify the feedback process; your team knows exactly what you’re referring to when you leave a Comment. Use Annotations to highlight specific areas to share your feedback.

From an artboard preview, you will find History and Details to the left of the artboard and an area for Comments and Annotations on the right of the artboard.

To leave a Comment:

  1. Enter your Comment in the box on the bottom right.
  2. Click the Comment button to submit your Comment.

To annotate a design:

  1. Click the Annotation icon in the bottom left corner of the Comment column.
  2. Click or draw a rectangle over the area you’d like to annotate. A number will appear on your rectangle. This number will be attached to the Comment you leave regarding that specific Comment.
  3. Enter your Comment in the textbox of the right panel.
  4. Click the Comment button to submit your Comment.

Your Comment will appear with the number that corresponds to your Annotation, providing context to your team.

Reference Comment histories to see the evolution of conversation around design-work as you work through versions. Read through conversations in a single thread to keep work focused and efficient.

Comment and Annotation History

Feedback evolves alongside design. Comment history allows teams to easily keep track of conversations around designs as teams iterate and collaborate.

Review the history in each layer detail in the left-hand column. Hover over the historical comments to revisit the Commit where the Comment or Annotation was originally made.
